Our Design Process
At McFarlane Fine Jewellery, everything tends to start with us falling head over heels for a material or a stone.
It might be its colour, its cut or just how perfectly it combines with something we already have in our workshop. There always has to be a little something that sparks our imagination and steals our heart.
The designs evolve quite organically, from our initial thoughts to the final pieces you can find in our online store.
However, the process doesn’t stop there: we’re constantly thinking about how to build upon an idea and make it even better.

The Love You to the Bone Collection
Phase 1: At first, this was a sterling silver base collection.
Phase 2: Then, we started stacking the Little Phalanx Rings.
Phase 3: Next, we created gold versions of the rings and started stacking them with our diamond bands.
Phase 4: Now, we’re creating diamond-encrusted versions of the Little Phalanx Ring and they’ll be available in our online store very soon!

The Quote Un-Quote Collection
Diamond Encrusted "Quote Un-Quote" Necklace
Phase 1: The base collection was all handmade from 18ct yellow gold.
Phase 2: We wanted to turn it up a notch, so we added diamond accents.
Phase 3: Now, we’re encrusting entire pieces in diamonds: a Diamond Encrusted "Quote Un-Quote" Mini Spiral Ring is one of the latest pieces we have added to this collection.

The Duet Collection
Phase 1: This collection’s starting point are the four Duet rings.
Phase 2: And there is more to the initial vision than the rings: ear cuffs, bracelets and necklaces made entirely from stones! This is, hands down, our dream collection and we can’t wait to bring it to life! For now, we’re just waiting until we can do the designs justice.
